Blood Ties….

Leroy waited for her to approach; a de Nova female, he could smell the blood and flowers- probably child’s mother or some relative. He looked down at the child who was losing her life blood so quickly, her lips were turning purple. Leroy gathered her close; little warm body was turning cold so quickly. This is it, he could not wait any longer, he could not see the beautiful child whither in his arms. Whoever was coming was too slow to approach…too much careful. He could not afford to waste time. He took a deep breath and dug his fangs deep in the flesh of the little neck, the child whimpered. He soothed her by caressing her tiny arms. He slit his own wrist and brought it to the child’s mouth- drip drip thick drops of blood dripped into her open mouth and at the same instant someone shrieked ‘Rosa’. He looked up in time but was a fraction too late when an arrow whistled towards him, being both hands tied he could not dodge it so he let it rip his shoulder. He winced in pain as he realized the arrow was pure silver dipped in some herbal potion – a specialty of de Novas. ‘Let her go and take me instead you monster’ her voice on the verge of cracking, Lorena ordered the vampire. He just gave her a blank stare.

PS: This excerpt is just a production of my scattered brain XD. Lorena, Rosalyn and Leroy are my original characters.
